The Rahus Institute is a 501c3 non-profit, research and educational organization with a focus on resource efficiency. The primary goal of The Rahus Institute is to accelerate the implementation of resource efficient technologies and practices through research, development, demonstration, education and policy change. The Insititute is currently developing projects that aim to promote the use of renewable energy in California.

Ra - hus: ra, from the egyptian god of the sun; and hus, the norwegian word for house. In the logo, the red ball represents the solar disk, a symbol of Ra. The thin black line represents the roofline of a house.

Solutions for a Sustainable World: This sums up what we are striving for — to help create a better world to live in — through the use of clean technology and intelligent implementation.

Our current program team includes a  mix of renewable energy experts, engineers, educators, media and financing specialists.

Founded in 1998, The Rahus Institute is governed by a board of directors.
